Can One Rage with Split Pants? HELL YEAH!
I love love love this concept! When I am angry or frustrated or sad, I am a puncher…I want to hit and smash things. And I’m getting too old to hit brick or tile walls anymore. When I found out about this place I was so excited…I always wanted to try one! Smash the Rage in Miami was founded by two women (love that!) and it’s an awesome little place. Right now they have two rage rooms. You can rage by yourself or with a group. I went with a group, but the next time I go I would totally go into the room by myself. I can’t really RAGE if I have to watch out for others. It’s located in an industrial area of West Miami as you would expect for this type of place. You walk into a small lobby that is cute, there’s a little couch and a recliner. The issue for accessibility is that the recliner is pretty close to the door and I had to shift a bit to get in without making it an issue. Once you are checked in, they walk you into a prep room where they have set-up your gear. You get overalls, a helmut, and gloves. Be sure to tuck the sleeves into your gloves. The overalls are pretty long in the legs, but you can cuff them like I did. I’d say they would work for someone up to about 5’11” comfortably. As for fitting around you…I had to have my boyfriend zip me up slowly while I sucked it in. I would highly recommend they offer a variety of sizes for the overalls. The rage room we had was small, but enough room for several people to go about their raging…as long as you are aware of the others at all times. As I was raging, two things happened and one didn’t. One, I injured my finger because I mishandled the sledgehammer. I hadn’t used one in well over a year, it used to be one of my go-to’s for smashing out anger. Two, midway through I suddenly felt more maneuverability…and a slight breeze. My overalls that were tight across my lower belly and butt had split like it was held together by cheap, worn out velcro. This didn’t stop me from raging, but it sure made the video comical. Haha (Video is an additional $10.) So the thing that didn’t happen was, like I noted above, a complete rage that defused my building anger and anxiety. However, that is not because of Smash the Rage really. It was because I didn’t want to injure anyone and because I had hurt myself. I am sooo going to go back when my finger is better! It’s totally smashed, not broken though! -LanaBare @ Fat Girl Reviews
